Wirklich schönes Tier und Metamorphose bei 14 cm...nicht schlecht, da entfällt das lästige Kleinstfutterbeschaffen!

Tolles Bild von dem Tier beim Luftschnappen. Wie viele tigrinum-NZ ziehst du aktuell groß?

danke für eure Komplimente, ich richte sie auch dem kleinen Kerl aus

@Marcus: Ja die Tiere fressen nach der Metamorphose schon mittlere Grillen. Gemeinsam mit Asseln, Ofenfischchen und Schaben, lassen sich die Tiere sehr einfach ernähren, sofern man genug Futtertiere hat

Ich habe 33 Tiere. Ich ging bis vor einigen Wochen ja noch von deutlich mehr Tieren aus, leider waren es ja nun doch nicht so viele im Aussenbecken. Auch hier sind einige Tiere gefressen worde oder verstarben "einfach so" (insgesamt ungefähr

I gave a lot of larvaes away when they hatched. A friend just showed me pictures of some he raised in his garden pond. 18 and 20 cm.....
They were huge... huge. Now the interesting is if they will remain neotenic or morf and if they morf what size will they have and will they be mature next spring all ready?

Interesting question, Martin, we'll see what happens.
18-20cm is incredibly huge, maybe they were fed on other larvae? Canibalistic larvae in my aquarium outside grew up to 9cm when "normal" ones had about 3cm.

Yes, they have feed on local triturus species that breed in abundance in his outdoor enclosiors. The odd thing is that these were still numerious despite the size of the huge larvaes. Personally I would like these to breed in their neotenic state. Would be interesting.
Now I hope that I can also breed diaboli next year.

Die kann man einfach in eine leere Box setzen, 100 Heimchen reinpacken und eine halbe Stunde warten.

nach langer Zeit mal ein Zwischenbericht:

Die Tiere fressen mir die Haare vom Kopf. Seit dem Herbst bereitete ich mich auf diese Nachzuchtsaison vor und habe mittlerweile Futtertierzuchten von Daphnia, Enchyträen, Mikrowürmern und Glanzwürmern speziell für die Aufzucht.
Dank des kalten Wetters konnte ich meine Zuchten im großen Maßstab draussen nicht aufbauen, weshalb mir so langsam das Lebendfutter ausgeht.

Dennoch können die Tiere wachsen. Mit einem Durchschnitt von 3,5cm und einem Rekordtier mit 5cm durch Kannibalismus bin ich sehr zufrieden mit dem Wachstum.
Meine vier größten Tiere haben heute zum ersten Mal Pellets bekommen, die auf der Stelle akzeptiert wurden.
Jetzt hoffe ich darauf, dass die anderen auch schnell groß werden und Pellets fressen, damit ich noch Reserven aus Lebendfutter aufbauen kann.

Das ist das größte Tier. Man sieht bereits die Hinterbeinknospen. Die Vorderbeine sind aber immer noch nicht vollständig entwickelt.

HERZLICHEN GLÜCKWUNSCH!

ich war schon auf vielen websites und Foren, aber von einer Erfolgreichen Zucht nacheinander habe ich noch nichts gehört. :KA:

Ich bin schon seit einer geraumen Zeit auf der Suche nach Ambystoma Tigrinum und wollte fragen, ob du welche der Tiere abgibst, da ich den Wildfang verschmähe und lieber warte.

Selten hat die Exotenhaltung so viel Spaß gemacht wie dieses Jahr. Ich habe noch nie so viele Zuchtgruppen in einer Saison zur Eiablage gebracht.
